Norman the Rooster

Well they make a beautiful couple.  I'm glad Norman isn't moving I'm sure the customers would miss him too.  What breed is Norman?  He sure is beautiful.  Thanks so much for sharing hte pics with us.  Give Norman my love.

Ok, sorry if you have already told us, what breed is Norman? Is he a Sumatra?

I mentioned it in his backstory but didn't outright state it. I'm 100% sure he is 1/2 Phoenix and 1/4 Silkie; and it's a good guess he's got Sumatra (multiple Spurs) and some kind of Duckwing bird in his ancestry; so I generally chalk up the other 1/4 to 1/8 Sumatra and 1/8 Gamefowl. So, basically, he's a good old fashioned mutt.

Gorgeous!

What a handsome couple! Glad they're getting along :thumbsup

Thank you!

Norman would look great even bald, his beauty is more than feather deep. I'm anxious too, waiting to see little Normans and Normas.

I'm sure you're right, but boy I can't wait for him to molt back in. He looks so funny!

How soon do you think you'll be hatching eggs?

I plan on beginning egg collection this Tuesday. I'll hatch as many as I can this season but I doubt that Norma will be laying much longer.

Norman might be the begining a new breed of chickens.  ;)

I sure hope so. Right now my goals incline toward a general idea of type with very strong focus on the size and personality of the birds. Not dissimilar to how people breed Seramas.

I'm curious, what color eggs does Norma lay?

A very very slightly off white. It's almost imperceptible, actually.
