I like that! My family has started this year to try and purchase more of our food locally. We do pretty well when it comes to food we make at home though my 8 year old has been drooling over bananas for quite some time now. We may have to plant banana trees...

I would love to see something like this done in my town, let alone my state!

Well on the site when you sign up and pledge, growing your own actually counts toward your 10% pledge. I don't know how, but it means you spend less I guess. Funny thing on the site though, it says the average family spends $77 per person per week on food! WOW! Holy moly.... we maybe spend $50-$70 a week on all of us!!!
