Ok i'm with you ..one post the pits are so loving you can leave your children with them, then that one of the reason they say cause the pit to killed kids.

How the number out number any other bred.....well they don't out number total of all other large breeds....well wait, except in the number that have killed people.

Pits are not used in police work ...why because once giving order to attack....the Officer would play hell trying to stop the attack....not so with the GSD. Plus the police dog is to hold the person...not kill them...which good odds the pit would.

Oh the info on the dog being pit in these attacks that kill......over half its from the owners.

untill pit owner are able to accept the danger of the breed...sorry little hope things will get better.

I know the danger of GSD and most breeds....would i leave a small child alone with one NO.

They have placed over a dozen in police work. There are 1000s of registered therapy dogs, service dogs, and police dogs that are pitbull type dogs.

By the way, just so we're totally clear...THIS is what everyone is afraid of:

That is Luna, hogging my bed with my standard eskie. She weighs all of 34 pounds, and I've never even heard her bark or growl. I have no idea what it sounds like. She simply doesn't do it. One time she did a boof and it was after a particularly loud fart that I did. That's it.

This is her falling asleep while draped over an ottoman with a 5 year old on it. She loves him and follows him everywhere. Do I supervise when he's with her, of course. Just like I supervise him when he's outside alone, when he's playing with the rabbits, or when he's with my eskie. Why? Because he's freaking five and needs to be supervised.
