NH, I'm glad to hear that your baby is super active. Please continue to take it easy. It will be better in the long run.
OK I need help from my fellow NC Chicken Experts!
I'm thrilled and stumped at the same time. I have a new egg being layed in the Hodge-Podge coop...YAY someone is earning their keep...bad news...I have NO idea WHO!!!
Hodge-Podge coop consists of:
Barnevelder rooster
2 - 13-14 week old Cornish X that haven't gotten big enough to eat and are SUPER active and sweeties.
1 - White Rock Hen....biggest hen i've EVER seen.
2 - Delaware pullets unknown age
1 - mystery bantam hen. She is blonde and my most reliable layer.....even if she is the most OPINIONATED hussie in the world.
The first egg was slightly darker than the egg today. They are relatively the same size and bigger than my bantam egg. I don't think they are from the white rock though.....at least I hope not. I expect BIG eggs out of that girl.

This is the White Rock, to the left is a Delaware pullet, and at the bottom is the OH(opinionated-hussie)

Ideas?
Second problem....I really need some more Marans hens. I have a BCM roo that is a little young and he needs more hens before he starts taking advantage of my too young pullets. I would give him some of the other hens until these pullets got old enough but he is PREJUDICE. He HATES white chickens. I've never seen anything like it before. I don't know the cause either because he is so sweet with people and even tollerates the "Camp Kenmore" roosters very well.
Does anyone have any that they want to sell/trade for? I don't care what color they just need to be old enough to help distract the roo. THANKS
