I am soo sorry to hear about the ongoing problems with Susan.
You may not want to hear this but you may want to consider that she has Mareks.
It affects more flocks than people want to admit, talk about, know of, or even think about. What makes me say mareks for your girls sluggish nature, the low tail and now leg problems as the legs are a tail tail sign in mareks. Mareks can affect different birds differently as far as time frame, some fall prey to it fast while others show slow affects till the are gone. Mareks can come from just about any setting and you will never know your birds have it till they start to show signs, others will be carriers for life, it is shed in dander. Not all birds are or will be affected even if they are carriers. I believe wild birds also carry mareks, as well as lots more diseases and parasites. *It is only carried on live birds and not hatching eggs* If it is Mareks there is not fix or cure, death will occur.
We have not vaccinated in the past, only kept up with PT & AI testing,
however with our increasing showing starting this year we will be vaccinating all chicks for mareks and the entire flock for Newcastle/Bronchitis. I have poured too much of my heart into my flocks to loose them to things that I can help prevent.
Praying that is NOT the problem.
Is there a test for it so you can know if that is the problem or you have carriers in the flock?
