I texted with her over christmas, she has been really busy at school and some other stuff at home. I was actually planning to send some of those photos to her but haven't had time et.

Good news/Bad news day....

Bad news: I have a sneaky suspicion that what I have been thinking(and BYC sexed) my BCM pullet is actually a VERY slow to mature roo.

Good news: I went to the state farmer's market today and casually mentioned having chickens to a lady I was chatting with. I came home with over 40lbs of greens, squash, and pumpkin for FREE. My chickens are thrilled!!!

GREAT news: thanks to RF I think I have found the HUGE white rock hens I've been looking for. I'm getting more pictures today and will hopefully go look at/buy some Tuesday!

Well with such a yucky day outside, figured I get started on a couple of things inside. Got all 60+ quail eggs hard boiled, they are now soaking to dissolve shells and will be pickled tomorrow. Also make some Apple Pie turnovers. The pie filling is homemade and canned, I did use store bought pie crust but the cream cheese icing is homemade as well.

Made 8 but only iced 4 for eating soon, others will be iced when we get ready to eat them.
