My new eggs came YAY! The incubator I ordered didn't. BOO! Yeah, yeah....I know its a rookie mistake. How long can I wait before I have to put the eggs in one so I don't loose them all?

Keep the eggs in a cool room, turn them at least 2 times a day and they will be fine for a few days...... I am turning a dozen, awaiting more to arrive on Sat.....

I have about 40 adult Silkies, Some madagascar game birds, 40 or so baby silkies, 10 or so leper game roosters and some other various chickens, as well as 2 horses, 2 cows, and 2 goats.

My biggest challenge will be finding 2900 eggs a month to put in my incubator.

So do you guys know of any good chicken auctions around here?

I got to one in wilsons mill, its near smithfield, its called the wicked chicken auction. They get 200-400 boxs of chickens a week.

Im always buying and selling chickens, so i tend to get a lot of varity.

I sold 30 white legorns the other day, and have have 12 new hampshires in the brooder right now.

Many of us here have been to the Wicked Chicken Auction. Many on here will be this Sunday. I unfortunately can't make it this week.

Okay so silkies, what colors do you have? You must share pictures ;) I have 50 eggs (most all are silkies) in my incubator right now. Mine's a home made bator that can hold about 80 eggs. I couldn't imagine 1000-3000 eggs. Holy cow, thank god I don't have the room to do it, because I sure would!!! I am a hatch-a-holic.

Well the silkies are mostly the wifes fun thing. shes got alot of difernt colors, blue black splash buff, chocolate, and idont know what else, she say partridge or something and silve but i cant rember what all shes got :p

jsp and thanks for serving. You go to the flock swaps? Don't know if I've seen you, but if your wife has cut her hair recently, than I do remember seeing her.

I dont go to flight swaps, im kinda outta sync with the chicken community in this state.

Im originally from ohio, towards kidron, and theres some large auctions up there.

Down here the only auction we know of is the wicked chicken, i was told there was one in kenly nc on saturdays as well, but i couldnt find an address.

And Yes My wife did cut her hair very short recently. :p

So you prob know her. which means youve prob seen me, as we pretty much always go together to the auction.

Welcome JSP! Like others, I will be at the WCA on Sunday. :)

I've had a busy few weeks now, and I'm hoping to hang out and have a good time on Sunday. As well as come home with some more birds. Trying to make room in an extra coop this week. :D
