Now that DoubleA knows where I live, I wouldn't DARE put this guy into the crock pot!! She is VERY anti-crockpot!! LOL.

Matt - what age is the best to cook the same day?? I admit, I did put the bird in the oven, but DH was "ravenous" so he didn't wait for the bird to cook, so I did it all for nothing..LOL. I will say that because of the weather, the processing took so long (that and I am SLOW) that rigor set in, so it was either cook now or break him...

ML - I kept telling myself that he was providing a wonderful sacrifice for our family. I was sad to see him go, but under the circumstances, he had to go.

On a funny note, BHep helped me put on the saddles that I made for the two girls...and five minutes later...Jemimah had hers off and by the time I got to Miss Tiggy, she took hers off!! LOL. Guess it was a little too loose?!? Off to try to make it a little tighter or something.

X2 no crock pot chicken here tonight. I put my chicken in the fridge to roast tomorrow.

Welcome....you are my closest neighbor ..

well if you are going to wicked chicken this sunday bring any fertal eggs you got, and ill buy them! are you the person who usually sells the fleur d'uccle chickens there?

Did you have any luck with the emu eggs? in ohio my dad purchased about 20 young month or 2 emus for 10 bucks a piece.

im really interested in peafowl eggs if your guys are laying, if you got any eggs for anything laying around, id be happy to buy or hatch them for you for like 1/3 rd of the bitties.

ive got a jamesway 2940 incubator that currently has no eggs in it (it holds 2500-2900 eggs and can hold up to emu size maybe ostrich size i believe) and 4 of the little giant incubators ( 42 egg styrofoam incubator's with auto turners) and 1 with no egg turner we use as a brooder/hatcher when they are close to hatching.

anyways, this is a all call, if you go to the wicked chicken auction, bring in your fertile chicken eggs!!! any kids, or peafowl, or quail! just about any egg!

this is a pic of me and the wife! So you know who to look for, we are coming THIS sunday! She has short hair now! and we are normally working the auction behind the line!

:p

Good morning everyone!

I have a few babies hatching unexpectedly. I took a few eggs from a broody to lighten the load I found out she had (and they were staggered a bit - so i took the lesser developed ones) I never get tired of incubator hoovering and watching them hatch

Congratulations on all the hatching everyone!! Hope it's a success and can't wait to see photos soon!! BHep, I may be racing to "hatch" before your emu if we have to wait until March!! LOL Wait, I'm not allowed to "hatch" until the 27th...let's see who wins out...the emu or me. Somehow I think the emu is going to win...LOL I am waiting for photos of all that is being hatched!!
