North Carolina

Hmm I dont really see what im looking for, i was looking for a listing of auctions in NC like the Wicked Chicken Auction, or listing of Flock Swaps in NC, and addresses.

Ill keep looking though!

There are not a ton of poultry auctions that I am aware of in NC?? Nore are there many poultry swaps (that get publicized?). I put together a Carolina Chickenstock last fall that turned out great and planning a spring on again this year. Date looks like possibly April 28th, here is a link to the thread:

FLOCK SWAP March 3rd

Then it will be held every 3rd sat of each month same time.
This is a small animal sale( goats, rabbits, chickens, turkey, duck, guinea fowl, pheasant, peacock, etc.)
Buy Sale Trade or just come out to look

March 3rd there is also the Morganton Poultry Show - always a good many birds for sale there as well.

March 31st Winston Salem Show - think there will be a sale there too but not sure...

April 14th there is the Greensboro Poultry Show

Is there a listing of auctions and such on here somewhere?

I think it would be awesome if they made a forum for each state, and then under each state listed auctions, flock swaps and chicken related stores.

We usually chat about them here on the NC thread OR someone MAY post on the chickenstock, show & meet up section. Like HT said....not too much in NC. We work with what we have here.

Glad he's working for you.

Quick question for everyone... what do you all do with the extra eggs you get? I currently have 5 dozen eggs in my fridge and I can't seem to GIVE them away, can't use them fast enough and can't think of what else to do with them. Anyone need some eggs for something?? Target practice even??

I'm sure they are all fertile (although I can't say whether or not they are viable, as I don't know how that aspect works

). I'm still such a noobie!!
If I don't come up with something...I am going to start making my chickens scrambled eggs for breakfast!!

I am getting 1/2 a dozen eggs per day from my 9 girls!!

Not bad, right?? I just don't know what to do with all that I have. LOL I am sure once they start to molt, I will be once again complaining that I am not getting any eggs, but such is the chicken life!! hehe.

Id be happy to buy any eggs from you, my incubator is empty and holds 2900 eggs. If you refrigertate them the only thing you can do is eat them though, i keep my eggs under my house, because its nice and cozy there.

If you dont refrigeate them, bring them to the wicked chicken auction and sell them, i believe they average 1-4 dollers a dozen there, depending on what type of chickens you have.

Or if you want to save them till you get a good bit, you can bring them to my house and ill hatch them for you, ill only charge you a couple of the little peeps.
