okay now what? how many does she have.

Bam-Bam came from a seizure that had 27 horses they were moved around often and kept in barbed wire. They had been used at some point as hack horses at riding stable. The day of the seizure he had a hock wound theat had been left untreated and he developed string halt in that leg. He moves with funny gait and doesn't break over on his foot so his toe grows long. He has been with 3 different fosters who were not very experienced and he was pushy with them got his way after being one of the lowest in the pecking order in the big group. He still get nervous when being handled and is very good with aiming his bad leg and kicking when he fell threatened. He is not a bad horse just needs someone experienced with handling and reading a horse. IF he respects you and knows what you expect of him he is great. He has not kicked me,(except the time when I was trying to get him loaded with very inexpecienced help who kept jumping at and away from him) but I try not to put him in a situation where he feels threatened. He does well just being out with my two mares, one who loved him for 10 days every 2 weeks or so.

. He will never be anything but a companion but he deseveres it after what he has been through.

I love the pictures of the chicks and duck together! I CAN NOT have ducks no matter how cute they are.

Deos anyone know how to do multiple quotes?

so sorry Bam-Bam has had a rough life......it sounds like he is doing well with you and you have given him a great home. We have 8 horses here now
and really can't take anymore but I certainly have met a few horses in my 43 years of horses that have needed better homes. God bless you

Hey I've got a couple question… I'm getting a couple ducklings on monday. I'm trying to figure out which breed, and my question is will breeds like pekin and rouens stay in a 3f fence and not fly out?

Thanks for having me! Im a newbie...sorta. This past year I have been battleing Breast Cancer and with chemo I could NOT eat store eggs anymore...needless to say a few weekends later we had chickens...love um! I am thinking of ordering some chicks from McMurray Hatchery. Anyone care to be my "mentor", lol. I dont want to take up alot of everyone elses time on here for my basic questions. Thanks for your time.

Kristan, I am from Burnsville too. You may want to go to TSC next week they start chick days on the 2nd of march, last year they had Brahmas and they were pullets, other breeds too but since you said heavy breed I mentioned Brahmas, they are the gentle giants of the chicken world.

Agreed...What do you plan for the birds? Do you have a plan for your extra roosters? straight run you plan on 50/50 boys/girls. if you don't plan to raise and butcher the extra boys, just go for sexed chicks in the number you want total + a few extra so say you want 20 hens, order 25 female chicks and 4 males, that way you still have plenty after assuming you're going to have a few losses by the time they get to 3-4 months old.
