My goals are to have some hens to replace a few older ones for their laying. The roosters I would sell for their meat. I live "in town" as in town I cant get in Burnsville....lolol...so I cant have roosters. I'm torn as to how many chicks I want for my first time. I thought 50 but then I got to thinking...50 is kinda alot!!!???? Because I live kinda remote, and everyone asks me for laying hens I thought it would be a cool adventure to grown them from chicks and I could replace my older ones in the process.....Eventually I think I would like to get some different/ornamental/ prettier chickens....but still want them to lay eggs. I also sell my fresh eggs which is a high demand for me here. I loved the picture of the Lavendar chickesn!!! Would love to have one like that. Hint Hint!!!
Burnsville is in Yancey County. About 50 minutes north east of Asheville. Near Mt Mitchell. Google me...you will see Im pretty remote. Thats kinda why I was gonna do this for a summer and see how it goes up here.
Yes, I would deff like to buy local as to a Hatchery. Do yall ship like the hatcheries do?
