Good Morning everyone!! Later on this morning I am going to sneak out and see if we do in fact have 2 broody hens out there!!
fl.gif
Hoping we do!! I need some boys to stock my freezer and more girls for their eggs!! I am officially ADDICTED to hatching via a broody!!

I blame Beth since it was her chicken that first went broody!! hehe. Now the big question: what type & how many eggs to let the girls hatch!! Suggestions??

ETA: Well...we definitely have ONE broody, my beautiful Dutchess who is my Maran/EE Mix!! She was sitting on some eggs, how many, I have NO clue!! DH said he left 3 in there, but I am not sure as she would NOT move at all for me. Looks like I'll need to get some eggs to hide underneath her sooner rather than later!! Hehe

:celebrate yay for another broody! I think you need some lil silkie incubators, since you are now addicted to hatching via broody! Or some more fluffy butt, broody Cochins! Oo or maybe so Brahmas, they are good broodies! :D

Well we had our first bear visitor of the year last night, it tore right through the fence bending metal stakes down to the ground. Completely broke into a 6" PVC pipe that had a bird house on it with I might add just hatched out baby birds. Then proceeded to tear down the bird feeder and carry it off i found it up on the hill torn up[metal] did not do any damage to anything else and the coops are right there too. I stood the bird house back up with the baby birds still alive but barely, I sure hope the mommie bird comes back. So this after noon we'll be fixing the fence and replacing posts. I had just filled the feeder with sunflower seeds so it got a tasty snack.

I entered one of my pieces in a contest here in a beading store and they are judging the entries by in store votes and facebook likes. If anyone likes my work, please vote for me. Thanks. :)

Picture "liked"! Good luck! Miss Lydia- WOW! A bear! Crazy! Welcome new people! I got a lot of catching up to do *** far as reading the thread! So found out why my DS was sick. Turns out an infected bug bite was causing the fever. I had suspected as much but glad the doc confirmed it and we caught it in time!

Hope DS is felling better now. Gotta watch out for ticks this time of year. They are already bad around here. Not around the house, i think the chickens and ducks eat them but if we go hiking up the mountain or aways from the house us and the dogs usually have quite a few on us by the time we get home.
