Good Monday Morning Everyone!!
Glad to hear that WCA was a success for those of you who went. I am determined to go one of these days...just have to convince the hubby to either take DD#1 home to nap or to come with me and just cuddle with her or the other one!! Not sure how well that would go since DD#2 would definitely need to be fed while there....and well...all I can say is AWKWARD!! LOL.
On a broody note...we should have some chickies hatching next Friday!! I think that DH and I are going to move the broodies this weekend into their new "tent" to wait for the chicks to hatch. My cochin is QUEEN broody!! She is sitting on at least 14 eggs - 12 were marked eggs from Beth & Alex, but I keep finding more in her nest and it's the least favorite nest, so I know the girls are not going in there to lay.
My Maran is NOT sitting on any eggs because she keeps switching nesting boxes going back and forth between two boxes, and I know DH has collected eggs from that side of the coop since none of the eggs are marked. I think that is partly because the Mama Cochin kicks her out of the box when she and her chick are in the coop, but I cannot be sure. I have YET to see this one actually leave the coop to do anything (since it's been almost 2 weeks, I know she is, I just haven't seen it) so I am not sure what is up with her. Any suggestions on what to do? I am afraid that if we move her and give her some eggs, she will not sit on them and then we will be out those eggs that she's sitting on. Has anyone had this happen before? Could it be because she's just a first time broody and is still "learning the ropes?"

Good morning everyone! Wow... I kept coming by to read and post since last week, and everytime I jumped on, I would read a page and the something would come up and I'd have to run. Then I'd try again and get interrupted. UGH!

Anyways, the meat birds are doing better. I started treating for cocci just in case, that has been rampant with me for the last few months.

Thanks to Alex, I switched over to the fermented feed. That seems to be doing the trick. Everyone is still eating like pigs and I'm feeding 2-3 times a day! Beth, I heard you switched too. Are you doing your entire flock, or just testing it out? I'm only doing the cornish right now.

Oh yeah, Jam Class reminder! Those interesting in learning to make Jams and Can I'll be teaching the class here, May 27th at 2:30pm. Just send me a PM for the details. I'm so excited to be able to do this and meet up with some of my BYC peeps!!!

Good morning everyone! All the stock are fed, breakfast has been cooked for my Boys, and the niece is still asleep.

I am sore today. I took a hard fall yesterday, right before hubby left on his trip and we left for WCA.

Then I sat for hours there, didn't do much before bedtime, and when I got up this morning...wow!

I'm missing CoopScoop and ramirezframing around here.

I'm guessing they are both having trouble posting. Usually CSB posts a good morning to everyone. I miss that. There's some others whose "faces" I'm missing, too.

Yes.... They are having posting problems. Sometimes they can post, sometimes they can't. Sometimes they can't even read.

I did speak to RF last night and all is well.

and I doubt Jamie will go to it by herself.

She's sure a doll, she is going to cover all the
chores/animals here while we are gone
as well as doing her own at her place.

We went camping this weekend and came home to a grumpy barred rock sitting on eggs. I can't even tell how many she's got-maybe 8-10?? I'm going to let them hatch if she will..I also have Indian runner duck eggs in the incubator that are due to hatch this weekend. I've had trouble keeping the humidity very high on this batch, so I'm not sure how good they'll do. It looks like I have 13 left after a few quitters.

In garden news-I'm seeing my first baby squash, tomatoes, and cucumbers! I'm so excited!

To raise the humidity... add a old wash clothe and keep it damp. You can lay it on the bottom of the tray.

Yes... I am feeding the whole flock fermented feed in the AM. They gobble it up. Regular feed in the evening.
