I'm contemplating bantam housing. Currently, they're in five foot rabbit cages, which I don't like. But...I have a handy husband who loves to have something to complain about (like me asking him to build things) and who also doesn't know what to do with himself if he doesn't have a project going! I'd give it a whirl, but he always tells me I'm doing it wrong, pushes me aside and takes over, so it's easier to just let him do it start to finish.

I have two dog houses. Neither is for the dogs. One is being used by the remaining turkey hen as a nest box, which is what they are out there for. None of the birds is interested in the other this year, for some reason. I'm thinking it may be the beginning of a bantam house. Actually, it was someone's backyard henhouse before it was a dog house. I'm thinking If hubby would put it up on stilts and do a few alterations, it could combine with a fenced in area. And of course, once one is built......

I'll have to come up with a plan, and as soon as he's done with the current project, set him up...er...I mean...suggest this one to him.

The quad from Beth should get first dibs, and the pairs can get next ones. It's easier to move them into cages on the grass every few days.

Speaking of which, that little lemon blue bantam pair of OEG I got at the last swap are nice little birds. I'm popping all their eggs in the 'bator, hoping for more. Sweet tempered, too. I need to get more pics of them. I assume he's got a fault, as he's dubbed, but wasn't shown, but I know less than nothing about the OEGs. The crele roo is a little demon, but at least he's small enough to laugh at. His lady is sweet tempered, though. I keep a basket on top of their cage, and when I open the door I can just pop it over him if he comes close enough. He mostly doesn't get close enough any more. He doesn't like the basket, for some reason.

I will need a big basket for Diablo.... the devil Frizzle Cochin. As soon as my little Frizzle grows up, Diablo goes back to his mama, RF. He has an attitude only a mother could love. He is lucky he is so darn handsome !
