At what age are they dying Beth? Any idea what is causing them to die?

Day 1-5...just failure to thrive or smothered. Which there is NO reason to smother each other, it is plenty warm.

I put the one survivor is now in with the bantams. It is STILL on the bottom of the pile.

Thought I would share some pictures of the three bantam Americauna's that hatched from Beth's eggs I got at my first WCA. I know one of the colors is black, not sure about the other two. Can you give me a guess Beth? Or anyone? I am naming them Huey, Luey, and Duey, because they act like them. Very strange little chickies. They dont stay under the heat much during the day and they are only a week old. They just stay piled on each other looking out the window of their box and chirping up a storm. However hopefully they all will not stay a Huey, Luey, or Duey if you know what I mean.

This one is just for fun. They are checking out the camera... its their first time

I will bare that in mind. What do you keep them in for the first 5 days? I use a clear plastic tote box, never had any smothered as of yet.......

Caught fox # 2 today, will have to put this one down. Leg is broke pretty bad.

I am not for killing them ...just relocate to the fox hole.

But 2 less hungry mouth to feed. My birds and I are appreciate my neighbors effort to save my birds.

I'm putting out a pair of live catch traps tonight. After my blue hen got taken Saturday, my niece said she heard something trying to get into the henhouse last night. Her room faces the back. She tells me it was scratching and trying to get in for a while. I asked her why she didn't come get me, and she said she didn't think of it because she was half asleep.

I'm just trying to decide what to bait the traps with.

We have live traps out...with no luck. Caught 2 with leg traps. They have rubber around the trap, no claws. This last fox got its fox stuck trough the bottom and broke the leg. :(
Baited with dog food.
