There is a lady on here that is about 30minutes from me that might have some. I have gotten somebody hers and they are very nice. Since I am meeting you at WCA I could bring them to you. She usually sells hers from $10 to $20. Pm me if you would like her user name. I was going to pm you anyway and ask a few questions to get ready for my new beautiful babies. Want to make them happy and little stress as possible.Anyone going to WCA or up my way (Raleigh, Durham, Burlington, Reidsville, even Henderson areas) have Silkies??? Chicks or known pullets? I have a guy and a little girl who I sold some pretty pets to and some nice quality chicks I went and picked up at Morganton for them back in October, he had a family of foxes raid their chicken house after he forgot to lock up Friday night. 4 hens 2 roos 6 teenagers and one of the hens was sitting on a nest of eggs when she was taken off...![]()
The little girl is 7 and lost all her beautiful pets and obviously very upset by it - they are really looking for partridge and splash - chicks or known pullets since they have already managed to get a very sweet tempered roo since Friday.
I have already sold all my extras and culls except 1, and she will be going to them...BUT If anyone can help me help this little girl get her a small pretty flock again I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you guys...
Good morning folks
hope everyone is happy this fine day
the ducklings we got at WCA were not
handled much at all and think people are the
boogieman.......they run and squeak/cheep
if we get near them. They still have baby down
so we are putting them in the coop at night and out in
a small pen for the day......
I just worry a predator will get them.........
so they get caught and touched at least twice a day
and petted and all but what treats would help with
getting them warm to us?
Hey! I'm in Iron Station near Lincolnton, not too far away!Hello folks. I just found out about this thread. I'm in Statesville, NC myself- anybody near by?
The ducks letting us pet on them would be nice but not a requirement.Good luck.... Out of the 5 ducks I've had since I started I only have 1 that will allow me to pet and pick her up without a fit. They all follow me around for food, but other then that they prefer I don't lay a hand on them. Lily is my best girl and they ALL free range 24/7 since we have the pond for protection. If it wasn't for the pond they'd all be penned because they just aren't bright.
I only have 4 now... but if anyone wants a very tame Muscovy hen let me know! My pekins and her just don't get along and she'd probably be happier with her own kind or by herself.
