OOhh...if you find out any, please share!! I don't know if you know this or not, but there is a website called homeschoolfreebies and they offer free classic books (in PDF format)...ones that were taught back "in the day" - when there was just one schoolhouse/room. Love them!! Any particular homeschool "stuff" you are looking for? I'll keep my eyes open more, so I can share if I come across anything. We still have a few years here before "officially" starting as NC doesn't require you to register your child until they are 7!! I do NOT want to think that far into the future. LOL. AND...WELCOME!!

I'm looking for people, actually. {We are primarily unschoolers, lol} There are usually lots of email lists for homeschoolers, and while I'm on a few NC lists, there doesn't seem to be anyone from the Rocky Mount area that I can find. I know there are here {b/c I've seen them at Walmart, lol} but it would be nice to get connected for activities and 4H stuff, etc) Not that I have any animals right now

, but as soon as we get a house {after ours sells}, chicks are at the top of the list. We are sorely missing our chickens!!!! In the meantime, if there are field trips planned locally, we would love to go along and meet people. If you need yahoo list info, holler, and I can pm you some links.

Hollow - I LOVED exam day...okay, I really just LOVED the fear and wild panic look that would spread across my students faces when they knew what I had in store for them....perhaps it's best I no longer teach OTHER peoples' kids. LOL. Have a great day!!


Duck/chicken/guinea news: They have all been on lockdown over the weekend as punishment for Donald Duck roaming into forbidden territory. Not only ONE but TWO (distant) neighbors came by to inquire about our duck.

Our "not so friendly who's actually quite friendly" neighbor stopped by to let us know that our duck poo'd all over their carport (which we immediately offered to go clean up), but she was happy to have him there as he was picking all the bugs out of her flower garden. LOL She said he was welcome to visit any time so long as her husband wasn't home (he wanted roasted duck for dinner) and he kept eating the bugs in her flower garden!! LOL. Sweet lady!! I think I need to bake her (or maybe her husband more-so) a goodie bag!! We'll see how they do today...hopefully no more bad reports from him.

I was wondering the same thing. Ruthann lives in the middle of NO-where. No joke...that is some trip that little guy is making.

People close to Raleigh-we are moving and have some chickens to get rid of. Many of them are young hens who should be laying soon (backyard mixes and others).

I'm not interested in getting money for most of them, just a good home. I also have 5 runner ducks-2 pair and 1 extra drake. You must bring your own boxes and pick them up.

Please send me a message if you'd like any of them. We are in Zebulon, about 30 minutes East of Raleigh.

HELP!!!!!! So momma red has started laying again and is not hanging out with her babies so much anymore, but when she does come around them she pecks one pretty hard. what should I do or is this normal? maybe it's a roo? HELP?!?

Very normal, she is telling them it's time to be on their own, This is the part I hate.
