I WILL NOT count the birds here, I would probably have a 'I is acoming to see ya' issue.

Are you going to count the birds at someone else's house also, or just happen to 'forget' about them?

I have been informed by a very reliable source that 10 bantams = 1 LF AND if it is same breed, different color, it counts as one !

That puts me down under 100 !!

BRR!! It's cold this morning. I have been up for FAR too long (DD1 was having a lengthy conversation with her imaginary friends then DD2 woke up to teething issues and wanted to be fed!! This all began at 2 this morning. LOL) and my old body keeps reminding me that while I am pregnant, I am still COLD!! I keep wondering who turned off the heat?!? LOL...I thought it was suppose to be warm down South?!? Oh well...I say BRING ON THE SNOW (and the hot fudge ice cream or chocolate cake...who's going to bring this treat to a poor "neglected" pregnant woman?? LOL)!! I haven't seen snow in 2 years and while I HATE to admit it, I am missing it - my children need to know what fun it is to go outside for hours and just play around in it!! Plus, I figure if my chicks can ice skate with the water mishap, they should at least be able to build a snowchick or something!!

Hollow - and the rest of you who will be heading out and about today...please be careful. I know the weatherman is USUALLY wrong about these sorts of things, but just in case, be careful!! I know some schools are planning half days (the storm is suppose to start around 11 for those further West of me), but with it being a Friday, it's going to be just crazy out on the roads.

I hope everyone stays warm, safe and all of your birds (counted or not) and livestock are safe and free from losses!! Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning, Happy People!

I get to stay home today, NH, so no worries. I don't have classes on Friday, so if I don't have any appointments or meetings, I stay home. And today is a good day to stay home! I do have to drive to Georgia tomorrow, though, so I hope no ice/snow on the ground. Well, if there is, I guess I'll just postpone the trip.

Yesterday was the first day I didn't have to collect chicks and put them to bed. When I moved the youngers next door with their elders, they of course didn't want to move. I would have a pile of them outside the door of the JDC each evening that I had to pick up and move. The pile has been getting smaller each day, and yesterday it was gone. They all figured out where their new spot is.

And they'll all have to relearn in March, when they get moved again!

I'm having a very hard time sticking to my new rule about keeping this place closed except for eggs and chicks. I know others are doing this too, after a bout of illness brought in with older birds, but by golly, it's hard when I see the birds that I want up for sale! Self control, Meg. Self control!

Enjoy your day, everyone! I'll be spending mine grading yesterday's exams!
