We've got the kitchen, living room, hallway, bathroom, and baby room painted. All carpet ripped up except one room and I have the sander coming this weekend to re-do the hardwood floors....now if I could get the kitchen and bathroom re-tiled I would be way ahead of the game. oh yeah and JD needs to come build me a coop

Hi everybody, I'm from Shelby, NC, and have eight hens and one very friendly Langshan rooster. I wanted to let all of you know about a free heritage poultry swap that will be going on March 9th in Western NC. Here's a link to the thread on it in the chickenswap forum: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/744052/heritage-poultry-swap-western-nc-march-9th If you want to bring birds, just pm and I can get you the contact info
:weee a flock swap right down the from me :woot :woot

Yea, I was worried bought that too. They seem OK:) Temp is suppose to be like 90 for the first week and they seem comfy at 85-ish. Not in any kind of draft. Chasing around the pen for the chick with the spinach leaf (even when there is more than one leaf in there) - so funny

Well all the new guys are doing well.. on the garden note i got my strawberry plants in the ground 12 of them and i turned over the new raised be getting that ready for some early planting.. potatoes onions and salad greens are going in soon! next couple of days
I guess in between the weird rain patterns we are having.

Happy Bday on Saturday, Lol cuz I wont remember that far away, life is so stinking busy with the move and work. Thanks for the response on the fencing, I planned to bury it 8-12 inches at least, and I'm getting silver laced wyandottes, not sure how big they will be. My worry was how high can a raccoon reach through and try to grab my babies.

lol thanx yea try like inch wide wire small enough so nothing can reach in or so a snake or mouse cant fit through it...i dont know bout mice though some got into a pen i had that wss i think an inch and when they started to come out from eating all the leftover chicken feed they got stuck and died... one second thought it may be a gokd idea homemade mouse trap and the chickens will eat it lol
