The quality will vary by person selling, just like anywhere else. Go see what you find interesting. Buy or not based on what you see. I've seen good, well cared for and healthy animals, and some on their last legs. Same thing buying from people on a forum I used to be on. Some good folk, some not so good. Gotta go see for yourself.i read the ag rev all the time i am tempted to buy drom some but dont knw their quality

Wicked Chicken Auction http://www.calamityjaneswesternstore.com/contact_us_2.htmlOk.... dumb question... what is WCA?
Also keep in mind the time needed to milk by hand is alot more then when using a machine. Cows eat ALOT, POOP ALOT, and will lean hard on anything to scratch.NH, do you read the NC Agricultural Review? There are often bred Jerseys in there. Sure you want that much milk? You're looking at several gallons per day. That's a lot of milk, butter and cheese. A lot. Plus, cattle are herd animals and need a companion. Chickens won't cut it!
What?? You mean I can't count Levi as a companion?? LOL I do know they are herd animals...we're thinking about a goat or a sheep, even a steer as a companion...not sure yet. As for the milk...I know I wouldn't use it all, but I also plan to let the gal take care of her calf and just milk the extra (which would probably give us more than what we could use)...also I do know of a family that is really struggling financially (and they buy raw milk a lot) so I would love to "share" the extra!! I am not ALLOWED to read the Ag Reviews...Dh is fearful that I would end up buying an entire farm and we'd run out of places to put them!! LOLNH, do you read the NC Agricultural Review?
