Good Morning, Happy Chicken People!

Love the pics Mary! The call ducks are lovely! And the kid is adorable! Now I miss my goats...

Another Monday, so back to work. I did get all the grading done, anyway. Planning ahead for WCA next week, though!

Enjoy your day!

Well my roo decided to start crowing at 530 this morning... hope my neighbors didnt hear it. Pretty sure my neighbors flood lights are shining right into the coop window. gonna try to build something to block it !

Oh....Wild, that cage, at a foot wide, is not enough room. Plus, you need to keep them separated unless they have a Lot of room. A doe who is feeling pressured can and will castrate a buck. Plus, she'll get rebred immediately after delivering, and a litter ever four to five weeks is not good for mom or babies. Not feed efficient either. Better to let mom grow her babies to eight weeks and butcher. No extra cages for growout, and mom is kept in better shape. The minimum cage size by standards is something like 24x30 floor space. I find that ridiculous for a ten pound rabbit. Mine have 60 x 30 floor space. It's still crowded when a litter is in, but not like a small one would be.

Regular pellets and hay are fine, but they will eat more of the pellets.
