NH... Chicken poop is fertilizer. So let them dig and be merry and fertilize.
And said mini Mafia Guineas are still locked up in a coop. They will be released to fend off my larger Guinea Mafia this weekend. Wish them luck.

TarHeel: you are doing right. Try to get that chick out this morning, if it made it. Hopefully the blood will be absorbed. If the chick is real sticky when you get it out, you can wash it with warm water and dish soap. Then just rub it lightly in a towel and put it back in the incubator to dry and fluff. Keep us posted.

Hollow: Great to hear about Jake !!

YAY..for chicks Wild !

BHep - OK so it is still alive so I took it out and tried again, but it is the same. Immediately saw a drop of blood. Wrapped in a damp washcloth and put it back. Will try again later if it makes it.

What I would do at this point, since you have others that need to hatch....maybe pull back as much shell / membrane you can...hope it is strong enough to push out.

Another tip: If your humidity starts to drop because you keep opening the bator add 1 TABLESPOON of warm water. No more or you will drown the rest.

Thanks, that is what I did. I wasn't able to pull back much of the membrane, but was able to chip away a good bit of shell hoping it would make getting out easier.

I put more water in, it was probably a bit more than a tablespoon. I only have one pip...and it's not much of a pip. Do you think the rest are ok if I did in fact put in too much water??

Is there anyway I can help her?? Her neck is bent to the side, I think she was stuck in her egg to long, or the egg was to small or something :idunno she is active and loud and tries to drink water, but can't. What should I do?

try to put its beak in and see if it can drink than, be careful not to put it in to far though. I had one and its head was bent more so it was almost upside down. It didn't make it long as I couldn't get it to drink. But I would gently rub that side of the neck to try and smooth or work out the kink. It seemed to help some. Good luck

Thanks RF. She was able to take a little sip, I'm gonna try and rub her neck, it is bent pretty far down. She is still lively and trying to move around so :fl

I know this will sound crazy (and i have to admit i have absolutely no experience hatching or healing) but is there any way to make some kind of splint. I know i have read that chicks bones are easily adjusted while young, like with spraddle legs. like i said crazy and a long shot but was just brain storming.
