Okay, I know cedar shvings aren't good for chickens, but my two coops that seem to be the worst infested with mites are 8ft long by 4ft and 4ft high and fully open on 3 side. I have been reading that the oils and aroma given off by cedar, can kill/repel mites, but I also know it can affect chickens, bit I was thinking that since these two coop are well ventilated, that maybe adding a bag of cedar to each one for a couple days might not be a bad idea?

Hello everyone. I have a friend that is getting back into chickens and is looking for some Polish that will be around pol. I'm thinking her coop should be finished around the time of Chickenstock. Anyone have any? How much if so? I'm going to try and bring her to Chickenstock so that she can look and see.

I have a Silkie that has gone broody. Well her husband (woman who wants Polish) said he would like some chicks. So I'm letting her set and see what happens. Checked on her tonight to see how many she was on and had to do a double check. She's sitting on 10 Silkie eggs and 1unknown (have several different breeds and not sure who lays which egg). Thinking they should start to pip around Easter, I think. I don't have an incubator so I'm letteing nature take its course and see what happens. Any suggestions on what I need to do to help her or should I just leave her be?

Thanks for any help. Hope everyone has a great night and enjoy this weather. Supposed o be back up in the 60s this weekend from what I've heard.
