On a baby note: I am officially in the LAST trimester and I am ALREADY ready to be done!! LOL

Alex - DH said he'd be interested but we don't have a place for her

he is interested but you have no room for the baby??????

This just stuck me as funny. Yes, I know I read it out of content but still...
First impressions are always funny....

I do think fencing her in may work.....

When I got home from work yesterday, I noticed that not a single pullet was outside. The day was nice, and normally they would be. When I looked to see what was wrong, I noticed both cockerels in the corner of the pasture together....trying to challenge our barn cat, who sat casually on the other side of the fence. Good to know those boys are on the lookout, although that cat knows well not to bother even the smallest chick. But the cockerels didn't know that! And instead of vying for top roo position, they were working together on that cat. Love it!

Enjoy your day. I'll see some of you tomorrow!
How cool is that? I sure wish mine would work TOGETHER rather than vie for top male (although the "stud" rooster doesn't bother putting up a fight thankfully!!). I wouldn't know what to do if my boys actually worked together...maybe they'd FLOG my DD's STUPID cat who likes to dart outside and pester the chickens!

Seriously, the ONLY person that cat listens to is Alex...I don't know HOW she does it, but she does...and I'm jealous!! LOL. Your poor cat was probably wondering why she was getting the stare down too!! LOL

Hope everyone has a great Friday... Happy Good Friday to all - may you have a wonderful weekend!

Oh dear, thats pretty funny really....
What kind.of fencing has to be used to keep in a goat? Especially if its temporary? Bc I would be eating goat if it ate my rose bushes.....
In Wyoming they used a temporary, portable solar-powered, electric fence. They'd set up a large area for "goat-mowing," let the goats at it, and voila - done! Driving buy, you'd see goats climbing low trees, munching through brambles - it was great fun to watch.

Got up this morning and the first thing on my mind (besides the fact that both of my preschoolers have some sort of stomach virus) is how I can get all the way to Jacksonville this weekend without my husband noticing and bring back a $36 incubator to use as a hatcher, without him noticing.

Hollowoak, will you have some at the next WCA? and when will that be.

Oh, I hate living out here in the styx where nothing good ever happens.

I am feeling really depressed today, so I hope I don't bring anyone down.

I just got done having a PM conversation with Greenacre about her Arabians and she asked me if I would be at the Raleigh show weekend after next. HA! I am so poor, I don't even have a truck to pull my trailer. My trainer would charge me more than my grocery bill to pull my girls three hours to get to Raleigh. What's the point of having horses? I have two preshcoolers and three jobs, I only get to see my horses when I drop off grain..... I remember when I lived in NY and I could throw the girls in the trailer and take a 15min-1hr ride max and be at a nice show, not some slapped-together joke of a local show like we have out here in nowhere land.
No wonder I'm so obsessed with chickens.

I'm planning on going next weekend, and can bring some then. That's likely when Alex will be able to get hers, too. I can keep them happy until then. :). As far as swapping, there's really not much I'm wanting, but I'm open to suggestions!

I took Levi's E-collar off this morning, and there is one excited puppy in my house! He's so pleased to have that thing off his head! Let's hope we don't have to put it back!
