Lots happening on here today.
Dutch, hope your kitty is doing better.
Matt, sorry about the wild cat issue. It is never easy to kill something even when it is killing your livestock. Glad it was a clean kill though.
DTS, good luck with the coop. I really like the ideas for an elevated design.
Since there has been much discussion about predators I feel the need to comment on one aspect of this as it something I feel very strongly about. Someone has already commented - but I just need to add a little more because I think it is so important. If you decide to shoot a predator, whether with a gun or a bow or whatever, please know what you are shooting at, what is behind it and where the bullets are going. There are stories all over the media about folks getting shot from stray bullets and not all that long ago a girl got shot with a stray arrow. You can't be careful enough when operating a firearm. Also, know your local, federal and state laws. Ignorance of the law is never an excuse for breaking it.
Our neighbor had a cat wander up to their property this week. He is very tame and loves attention. Sadly, it is obvious that someone dropped him off to fend for himself. She is looking for a home for him if anyone wants a young male cat. My guess is that he is around 6 months old. He is scrawny right now but she is feeding him and has even said she will pay to have him neutered if it will help to find him a home.
