A puffed up chick can be suffering from a lot of different problems. One of the most common is Cocci. Sulmet or Corrid is the treatment, but needs to be started fast. I use have used Sulmet in the past with perfect success.

i am so OCD and I think it's all the clutter that's driving me nuts! And I still gotta build that coop and get all the boxes out and the furniture. And my hubs just doesn't get that the clutter and all the memories and I'm having to leave the home where we became a family and its so sad. And on top of all that one of my little chicks white rocks is sick and idk what's wrong with her.

she's all puffed up and a big chicken pecked at her while they were in the yard through the pen and ever since she's all puffed out and walks dizzy.

this hurts my feelings so bad because the eggs she hatched from were a project at a school in a kindergarten class and nobody thought shed make it out of the egg because the membrane had dried out so bad so I brought her and her brother home and chipped the shells and softened the membrane and literally hatched them myself because they weren't trying enough to do it alone! And she's going on 8 weeks now am it really hurts my feelings because idk what's wrong with her. Any advice at all???

Thanks all i tried all of it together. lol. except paraffin wax cause i didnt have any. And Matt can I buy that at tractor supply? And if so how much? I'm so worried for the little baby. :( it was just all of a sudden she started acting like that. :( and the little bantam rooster does just last night. :( i just took them off the medicated feed about a week ago. my day has officially sucked. I'm sorry to put it that way but it did.

I don't use Tractor supply, so I don't know what they carry. Most decent feed stores carry Sulmet. It is a pint bottle of liquid that you mix at 2 tablespoons per gal for 2 days and half strength for 4 more days. Runs about $10 a bottle. DO NOT EXCEED DOSAGE.

Someone else may be able to tell you about corid, I have never used it.

I don't know if the feed store carries either one. I just checked tractor supple online and it carries corid but its 23 dollars for a 10 ounce packet. :( I'm going to see of the the store here has sumlet tomorrow morning. I sure hope and pray that my girl doesn't pass before then. I've had an outbreak of coccidiosis when my grown chickens were babies and it was horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please keep my little one in your thoughts. She's my inside baby! And I have no clue where she got this from! Seriously! No other chicken goes in her pen outside or inside! And they r 2 different pens and are cleaned daily!!!! :( my poor baby.

my poor baby.
When you ask at the feed store keep in mind corrid is not packaged for chickens...it's a product sold for calves. The powdered version is 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water for 5-7 days. Make sure that the treated water is all they have access to. I mixed up a gallon at a time and kept the excess in the fridge because my waterer would only hold about 1/2 gallon. Just mark the container so no one else drinks it. Sometimes Southern States carries it too.

I hope they are all ok.

But i will take a few photos after i get home from work today. I usually get home around 6 depending on traffic in charlotte and on 485
