No haven't changed a thing. Nothing any different than any other day. He was at the old house here and let out several time a day and given fresh water and food. I just don't understand.

My devious little crew.. I left them on lockdown today, trying to get them used to our back-to-school hours. And they are just starting to lay so I want them to get the picture where that is supposed to take place...

Anywhoo I let them out for a couple of hours tonight, and they were acting like blessed fools! Like a crew of disobedient kids! Haha, makes me laugh. 4 of them flew over the neighbors fence! It was like 'we'll show you for leaving us locked up all day!'

Sorry for all of your stress & losses lately sbrooks! i'm just going to take a deep breath for you! Things are bound to turn up soon!

I just wanted to let everyone here know how much it means to me to have so many people who care and you all have never even met me. I'm so glad we all have a place to go where others understand your frustrations and are willin to give advice and prayers in any situation. Good morning happy chicken folks! I really hope today is a much better day. Got my coffee...which tastes horrid but hey it's caffeine. Hope you all have a wonderful day and I'm going to pray for no losses or injuries to any of your or my animals. I really wish I could go back to sleep for a bit but there's a lot to do!

Really?? That's what happens when you just look a photos!! BOO!! Okay, who wants to start a LF D'Uccle project?? I'll be first in line to give the boys a home!!

MY BUNNY JUST DIED IN MY ARMS!!! Just all of a sudden! Fed him last night. Fed him this morning! Came back to give him some turnip greens and he was limp! I picked him up and dropped some water in his mouth. He didnt want it and then he just died. Just like that! Gone!

I can't stop crying. My chick yesterday and today my mr marbles! What did I do to deserve this?

I am SO sorry for your loss. It has been a bad summer for some of us - I am praying things get better for you!!

I think you have a good list there

I have australorps, wyandottes, Orps, cochins, EEs and Faverolles all in my layer flock. They are all great Layers. And the cochins as you know, make great broodies

. I think they are all lovely birds with good personality.

My do that ALL the time...well, minus the flying off to the neighbors' as we don't really have neighbors. LOL

Got my email confirmation from Freedom Rangers (NICE people by the way) and my birds will be shipped out on the 21st and be here by that Friday! Any TIPS for me...we've never ordered chicks before. Will they be okay in an outdoor brooder with a heat lamp? Aside from giving them water right away, do I need to do anything special?? I am SUPER excited (and NERVOUS)...although, I guess we need to get busy fixing up the coops and such. Good thing the hubby is taking a few days off next week (that's because HIS mother will be here..AHHHH) - guess we can send him AND her outside to do some work. LOL. We should have ducklings hatching next week - assuming during the attack, the eggs were not harmed...I do know that mama is still sitting and "talking" to the eggs, so I am hopeful!! Once they hatch, they will be moved to the NEW location!!
If anyone knows of someone in my area that is GOOD at working on lawnmowers, please let me know...Hubby and I kind of/sort of...well, it's broken. LOL. I thought I broke it, but DH "fixed" what I did and ended up killing the engine somehow.

It will fire up just not turn over (battery, spark plugs, fuel lines, filters all checked)...needless to say our yard really IS turning into a Meadow!!
One last thing...any canners out there?? I'm looking for a recipe to make a SMALL batch of pickles (I can't touch them and DH only eats them on his burgers) but all the ones I have call for TONS of cucumbers, etc... I apologize for my brain being all over the place - I blame it on lack of sleep and...lack of sleep! LOL

NH, take your list of breeds you like that are kid-compatible, find pics of roos of each one, then offer them to hubby to choose from. He chooses, and you don't have to.
