They look like a young pair just not filled out yet, does he have spurs?

He has small spurs...the hen seems younger..not sure. These are the first I have gotten from an auction. I'm not a fan of buying without knowing some details. The birds I took to sell....I put a bunch of info on their box. Breed...sex...DOB etc. I wish in was required. Oh well...they are just for pretty.. Can't see them winning any ribbons.

I bet you get them cleaned up and fed and they will be beautiful!

The lavenders and buffs are both so pretty!!!

Bhep, your roo's eyes are amazing!!! I wish all that info was required at the auction, too. Being a newbie I know there is no way I can start off there! But I do know that cochins are at the top of my list.

Newhomesteader - this one is just for you and your baby fever - I may not have cute baby chick pics yet but I do have my baby babies! Here is one of my favorite newborn portraits of my little guy (now 4 months)!!!

Oh my he is adorable!! We are hoping for a boy next but it will be a surprise nonetheless (we don't like to find out what "it" is...until "it" arrives. Usually we call the baby "Baby Mac" instead of "it"

) I too think that the auction would not be a great place to start...but it could be fun to go and browse. Since we have pretty much the same list...I'm sure we'd be fighting over the same ones....haha...just kidding.

HT- I assumed lavender was their color, but I wanted to make sure (especially since in my world lavender is well.... light purple...) I thought I might have suddenly gone color blind or something.

Regardless of their color, they are gorgeous birds!!

BHep- I am sure with all the love and care you bestow upon these new ones...they will "fluff" out in no time and be worthy of the blue ribbon!! All they need is a little time and some good quality care (not to say that they didn't get it from where ever they came from - don't want to cause trouble...) Is there any way you can suggest to the auction "house" to instill some requirements or at least ask them to suggest to the sellers to include some pertinent information? Don't know if it's possible, but if so, it can never hurt to try.

I saw a few new people post and to them I say

!! You could not have chosen a better group of people!! Everyone here (excluding myself...I'm a newbie) is very knowledgeable and wondrously helpful!!

Sorry ML, knew someone had talked about that wormer.

Yes, flock raiser is fine, they are old enough now and should have no problems with that at all.
