Hey all! What a delightfully squishy day today.

I think my chickens are training for the 2014 mud run. Poor guys. On the bright side, integrating the youngers in with the fantastic four is going great! The wee ones were all out of their box with the big 'uns this morning when I went to let them out, and they didn't even bother tucking in to their private box tonight.

Rainwater collection is going great for the water bucket though. Now I just have to figure out the best way to keep their run from turning into a swimming pool...

Good morning folks

What a difference in the day between morning and
the afternoon......makes for an interesting day but dang
hard to dress for work. I too am not thrilled about all the mud
but we do need the rain. I'm not looking forward to the cold
even though we need that too. I am hoping to get to the show
this Saturday in Smithfield, NC. I like seeing the birds and if
you have a knowledgeable person or two with you to point
out things about the birds, then it becomes quite informative.
Anyone else going there?

BRRRRRRRRRRRR it is cold this morning! I have to figure out where my ice scraper is, took forever for my windows to clear to drive my son to school this morning.

Quail eggs should be delivered today, hope they aren't frozen!

My house is smelling like Christmas-- made 10lbs of fudge & 12 dozen cookies. Now the dreaded part of cleaning the kitchen!!!

MY HUSBAND COMES HOME THIS WEEKEND!!!! So excited

(....and excited to be done with these meat turkeys. I think my pair of heritage turkeys will be glad to have them gone too! Curious-- when should I expect eggs from my royal palm hen?)

Good morning folks

Another day closer to a weekend........I just wish I
didn't have so much to do on the weekends. There is
so much for me to get caught up on. I can hardly wait
for the winter break..........I'll end up working myself to
get things caught up that I'll need to go back to work.
