Jamie, I loved the way your little one greeted me yesterday. She's such a sweetheart! You've got three good kids, but your youngest has a knack for touching the heart.
So glad that was one moment that they were good. Not that they were totally bad but, I think they could have been a little better. But I also understand that they were getting a little broad towards the end. Thank you for the kind comment on my kids.

Just caught up on a weeks worth of post. Busy like everyone else hauling water, checking on everyone and not fun with a bummed up knee. Still treating one with frostbite on her foot, using Eucerin on it looking better and the one with the bad wing isn't getting better. I have her to herself now, the others were starting to pick on her. She has only had 8-9 treatments of fura-zone and blue-kote and tried 1 treatment of nu-stock. With all the cold temp. I didn't want to chill her. Being today is a little warm, I might try to bathe it. It is so hard, just don't know what it is. Not eating much so I know she's not feeling good, sure hate to lose her, she is one of my first chickens almost 3 years old. On a better note starting to get a few eggs now and some are squatting and the babies are doing fine in all the cold temp. Thought I share some pics of them and the snow, we got 6 inches and more in drifts. We are in North Eastern NC where all the high totals were forcasted. Thank goodness we didn't get that much.

Good morning folks

I was so enjoying the little mini vacation the snow
had given me but it is time to get back to work. I am
wondering what days they are going to take from us to
make up for these days of white we had. Since we have
had the snow, I vote we can bring on spring now.

hope everyone has a good day

I'll second that vote for spring! Hubby swears that a local groundhog would Not have seen his shadow. Spring is springing!

I think we have a bit more winter coming.

This 70 degree weather so makes me want to be out in the garden!!!

Has anyone started their seedlings inside yet?
I'm thinking about putting in the onions & garlic, though with my luck we'll end up with another freak ice storm!

Nothing started inside yet, but Feb 14 will see potatoes, peas, onions, carrots, broccoli, cabbage, spinach, beets, chard, and a few other things get planted! That's my first planting weekend. Can't wait!
