I hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday. Glad to see
you are back safe and sound Hollow and no loses on the home
front. I may try those cabbage balls frozen this summer for the
birds. I got the cover off the puddle and it was still in good shape,
ready for splashing about and cooling off. Guess I'll mow the
jungle this afternoon after work.

My barn cats aren't killing mice they just watch them like I watch chickens just completely ingrossed so I took my blow darts and pipe out and got a few to give to them and show them its food I got one on the run through the head lol but when I put it down to the cat it start running circles so instead of teaching them to not only eat mice now I taught them to play with they're food :p

My cats stopped killing animals once I got all of mine. They used to catch birds, lizards, and mice pretty much daily, now they won't touch them. We've just had to put a mouse trap because I think I hear one behind our stove in the kitchen. We always have baby chicks, baby bunnies, guinea pigs, all kinds of animals running around here they aren't allowed to eat I think the cats must thing the mouse is my newest pet addition.

I made a maggot farming feeder with a two liter some wire and what was left of my rabbits from the dog attack I hung it over a food dish and the chickens love the little wiggly goodies ( but it stinks as dead things tend to )

I hung cabbage tether balls in three chicken houses yesterday since we left at 3:30 am and I wasn't letting them out. The Welsummer pen had only the core left when we got home at dusk. The EE pen had lace. The English Orpingtons had turned their noses up and hadn't touched theirs! I moved it to the breeding pen that has the Golden Cuckoo Marans this morning, and they loved it. Silly Orpingtons!

Speaking of Orps, what's with the new trend I see to add an "h" to the word and spell it "Orphington"? I don't get it!

And...hubby is about to start on the last chicken house! Woohoo! Can't wait for it to be done. Then everyone will have their own pasture section. I'm loving it!
