Think about it this way. If she bites a person or an animal, she WILL get put down for not having a rabies vaccine. She really does need to be spayed and vaccinated. She's also likely to have heartworm after being on her own for so long. She may seem really wild now, but she might have a chance at leading a normal happy life as someone's pet. I think catching her is a very good idea. Let the rescue group do their thing and let them know that she is very welcome to come back to your farm after her veterinary care if she is deemed unadoptable.Hey everyone I had a hard decision to make yesterday. This stray dog had her pups at my house a few weeks ago. :-/ well then she moved em. We couldn't find them until we heard them screaming when it rained so hard Tuesday night. So I rescued them. Mama dog wasn't around. Well I kept them in a box and called a reuse group about them. They came out and got the pups. And left a huge trap to try and get mama dog. No luck there. She is a wild dog. She doesn't like people and I really think if cornered she'd bite.she's been here for like 2 years and we leave food out for her but she still doesn't trust us. I really want to catch her so she can e reunited with her pups but at the same time I'd feel guilty because she's the only dog around that accepts my dog with spinabifida. They lay in the field and swim in the pond and run and play together. Non of my dogs want anything to do with him. I just feel so bad about it. I didn't want the puppies or anything but I did cry when they took them. I already have 6 dogs and a bunch of chickens and 3 cats so I don't need anymore mouths to feed. Did I do the right thing? And should I give up on trying to catch mama dog?![]()
