Man, that lovely sunshine on Sunday was just a tease! It's been rainy and yuck all evening here, and the cold air's a-comin' too! Gonna have some mad birds if they don't get to go out and roam the yard any this week!

Did anyone go to the flock swap in parkton? Ironically I literally live right down the street from there but it just happens to end exactly the same time i get off from work or held on the one day of the month I have to work a double.

It's nice to have more new members here. Glad to meet you.

Rain again for today but I don't mind too much. The trees are
needing some deeper water.......just wish the chickens didn't
make so much mud in the pens. The kids will love splashing
about in all the puddles and if it isn't too cold I just may show
them how to have fun at it.

Good morning folks

Most of the girls are still on winter break but that duck
hen gives an egg every day.....almost makes me think
we need another one......almost. My timing was off a bit
on keeping chicks last year and I missed having POLs
for winter eggs........oh well......next time.

My girls are slowing waking up and getting back to laying. Got 1-3 eggs a day for two months. Now I'm up to two dozen plus. The POL birds are starting to lay, too. I wormed them this weekend. By the time they are all laying, they'll be off withdrawal time. Then I'll start rotating pens and worming one at at a time.

Looks like a cold spell coming up. Batten down the hatches!
