I've been waiting for a broody but not a one so far. I'm thinking about separating my purebred Brahma rooster and hens so that if I do get a broody, I can sub in their eggs. Maybe the Laced Wyandotte hens too since I love how the coloring of the hens from that mix last year turned out. I've been pretty happy with their production too...getting 16-18 eggs per day from a flock of 21...some of the hens are 2-4 years old.
