Hey guys -

Just posted this question and would love to hear your opinions:

"I'm afraid I'm being overly anxious about eggs purchased on ebay, but I am trying to coordinate setting 2 seperate orders for my first incubation attempt! I purchased the eggs two days ago, emailed yesterday evening, and still haven't gotten any kind of communication from the seller. Is that normal and to be expected? What kind of time frame is reasonable to allow for some response? The other eggs were purchased on the same day and the seller has been very communicative. The eggs were shipped yesterday and expected to arrive today!!! The expected delivery listed for the other was tomorrow, but with no shipping info yet I'm having doubts that will happen. Which would mean they wouldn't come until Monday. So what would I do? Try a staggered hatch for my very first go at this!?!? Yikes!!! Thanks for your input!

But on the plus side - I just got one order of eggs!!!! And the super nice guy sent me 18 instead of 12!! Whoa. I think he picked up on my excitement level.

SCM.... congrats on your 1st eggs...

Shame on seller #2! Seller should normally contact you right away!!!! Of course there may be a perfectly good excuse/reason, BUT I would be a little uneasy. Try to contact again...maybe email did not get there.

I have 1 tiny barnyard bantam mix chick that hatched today, still waiting on 3 Seramas, starting to worry about them.

I have 1 of my BLRW in infirmary with leg issues, I am trying the bandaid method.

All the rest are doing great.

Also got 5 brand new Sabastopol goose eggs today. My last batch were infertile, the seller generously replaced them all !!! I am tickled!

Ok...so I did it! I called Mr. Dickey and ordered a cabinet incubator, he is going to try and get it out UPS today.

I think I am in trouble !!

I need to do a photo shoot this weekend. I was sitting outside earlier with my chickens and I have some real pretty ones !!

Thanks Bhep - I'm glad to hear I'm not being overly impatient! I took your advice and sent another (very nice) email. I hope they will get back to me!!! Any luck with the Seramas yet? How's your BLRW doing? Hope all goes well!!!

What a beautiful day! Too bad I'm not really enjoying it outdoors. My children are not cooperating. Crazy seasonal allergies for one and a slight fever for the other, so they're just taking turns napping (not at the same time of course) and being grumpy butts. Not helping my nerves being stuck inside obsessively refreshing my email and checking my junk folder hoping the slow egg seller will get back to me!!!

I have a pip on 1 of the Serama eggs. I don't expect it to hatch until tonight. They take forever!

The little gimp leg BLRW... doesn't seem to have a will to survive. I will see what happens, give him a day or two.
