Evening everyone! Checking in with a final hatch update as they all now all out an in their brooder.
8 of 8 bantam orpingtons, looks to be mostly blacks, I think there is only 1 or two blues

9 of 10 solid black marans from nice dark eggs (great hatch for shipped eggs as I started with 12)
1 of 1 brown LF orp (shipped eggs started with 6, one exploded in my hand

1 of 1 black copper marans, I set three from a new hen so I am happy with the result
0 of 1 lavender cochin (again shipped eggs, 11 were not even fertile and the last pipped upside down and didn't make it

Will get pictures in a few days when everyone fluffs up and settles in.

Mom is a pygmy/milk goat cross so I may try my hand at it to use for goats milk soaps.

The kids are hers and full boar cross, they are currently a month old.

I have 3 chicks out so far. 1 Serama, 1 Polish & 1 Polish mix. Came from a Polish egg, but clearly somehen has been messing around on her rooster

My DH has decided to start small in meat goats. The mama is good for me as she is part milk goat, the kids are great for him as they are part meat goats. With 10-1/2 acres we have plenty of land for them.
