NH... I know you are impatient, but I would hold on to those Ams. until they crow or lay an egg. My Blue Marans Hen crowed the other morning !

All I could do was stare at her...ummm HIM. AND my smooth feathered Sizzle rooster laid an eggs.

Good morning!

Here's the progress on the coop! The covered run - hardware cloth still not totally secure yet in the pic.

Here it is! The framing for the metal roof is all done and now if we can just get a gate up the kids can at least be in there during the day all day and just come in at night until I get the coop itself fixed up a bit (more ventilation, ramps, and a few other minimal things). Then I can keep fixin' it up over time but at least it will be safe.

And just for cuteness!

Good luck w/ the hatches and w/ your little lone duckling, ML! Pics, please!!!

PS - We celebrated my grandfather's 90th birthday last night. He is a veteran of World War II and the sweetest, most gentle man I've ever met. So, of course, he is a chicken lover! He grew up raising White Leghorns for their eggs and has really enjoyed my "fancy" chickens and helping with the coop. I can't wait until they're outside and it's a little easier for him to come and just sit and watch them being silly chickens! Love you, Grandpa!

BLR

Helped my friend finish her coop yesterday to get her spare room back from the all the chicks. Hope to get her on BYC. She lures all the time. We are moving foster horses today 350 mile round trip, but thankful some one could take them on short notice, but short notice is the way things are going at this point.

My broody is learning to deal with her four chick. She can't talk them into the coop at this point they have not figured out the ramp so when they run under the coop she squishes herself under the there with them.

got to go, friend is here to hitch up the trailer.

Goodmorning All

GA... safe trip

ML... hows the duckling this morning ?

Well... seperated up the rest of my chickens into breeding groups last night and moved some juvis out to a larger pen, no-one is happy with me right now. One EE escaped on me this morning. I'll have the kids get her later.

Heading out to the auction today, bringing about 50 chicks & juvis and one BIG beautiful Light Brahma rooster.

I will miss him but I don't have any other LBs. I have several juvi roostesr too go also but I need to let them grow out a bit more before I choose. Next trip to the auction I will need to bring some of my ducks also. Too many drakes of course.

Have a great day everyone

was thinking that with so many folks wanting help on processing maybe if a central place could be found that suited the needs, a processing party could be set up for later in the fall or early spring????? thoughts anyone?????

Amen! I have 10, 7.5 week old pullets in my laundry room! The coop will be finished today. So tonight will be there first night. I can't wait until they get the routine of roosting in their coop and not in my house!
