He came to her matted and under weight, he has since gained a couple pounds and has the mats off of him he looks great, well his coat looks a little choppy but not bad. We are might just be keeping him for a while and than find him a home we are not sure yet.

I rarely post on this thread, but I do read them. I know many of you have silkies and I'm posting in hopes that someone can help me with my current Silkie chick problem. With my recent hatching I had two with leg/ feet problems. I know how to make the special shoes for curled toes and I know how to make a brace for sprayed legs. With this one chick the brace thing doesn't help. It's like the leg goes out and back. I know some will suggest culling and I'm ok with doing that only when all else has failed. Re pictures, I usually BYC from my phone and I cant post pictures from it. But if someone were to pm me with there #, I could txt pics. FYI I think it is a lavender Silkie. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, nikki

I'm up for that, I may have to 'borrow' a bird from someone or I could just watch. Depending on the size of the crowd, I may be able to get my mom to allow us to use the old garden behind grandma's farmhouse, though I don't think we'd have room for more than about 8 to 10 cars MAX. No one lives in the farm house, but we have electricity and running water there for the obvious purposes. The house is not far from Benson, NC near the I-95 and I-40 split.
