Okay I would love to rant but we are about to go to town and get antibiotics so I can't type to much.
I will just say we ended up with six hens and a chick, in the middle of all this.

So in the garage we have

3 bantam pullets
1 EE hen
and now a bantam hen and chick.

In the house house we have
Our little pullet in the living room.

We set up the whole electric fence and turned it on high. We figured that would be more than enough since it has been leaving little foot prints (raccoon).

So since we now have 4 other hens and our cockerel they spent last night out. At 3:30am we woke up to Henry making a fuss. My brother was home and ran out with his gun to shoot what ever was trying to get him. It was a Bear! on the other side of the coop so when we got out there it had all ready ran off. He still fired off a few rounds to scare it. Henry tried to take it on and last a few feathers but seemed actually very proud of himself because he think he scared it off. He let out a few crows when all was said and done as well

The bear did get a hold of our one hen tho. So now we have another hen in the garage. Around 5:00am our raccoon came and was trying to get to the hens as well. I am running around caring for chickens all over the place, my first broody, a pullet that can only hop, pullets and a hen in the garage, and now another hen with a huge hole on her back. I just want to pull me hair out

Oh and did I mention 3 of the hens have bald back from there last home because of the rooster? They also have bald spots on there wings, and they where not trying to help them heal or nothing

Well I have to run thank you for letting me rant

My goodness allabout poor babies, thank goodness they have you to nurse them back to health. We found bear prints close to us also, so far hasn't come into the fence area. Berries haven't come in yet and they are hungry.
