Yes, most definitely high winds. Our power keeps flickering, which makes me nervous. The winds have made it feel so brutal cold here, the chickens have been staying indoors a lot the past few days - it went from rain on Saturday to snow Saturday night and snow on and off on Sunday and Sunday night. Our head roo, Sunny, a Buff Orp keeps looking in our front door like he's saying: "Hey it's cold, pleeeeasssee let me in!!!"

I can't understand why the chickens want to be outside when it's like this. I did notice yesterday that they did go in their house off an on during the day. Makes me want to gather them all in to the house and probably would [if my dh wasn't here] lol

Good Morning! How did everyone fair the night?? Very cold here this morning at 18 degrees but warming quick with the sun out. Chickens did well as most are in the horse barn with lights. My girls (bantams) are still laying rather well (knock on wood) for as cold as we are. Sure will be nice to see the slight warm up coming this weekend.

even blew down the canopy covering part of the outdoor Silkie kennel.

Got everyone moved into the barn yesterday except for a group of blacks and my single white roo...gotta do something with them today since the water INSIDE their houses froze last night

I love winter...really I do~~~and it's not even winter yet!!!! I hope and pray we don't have another one like we did last year

All the chicks in diningroom/hatchery are doing well and growing like weeds.
Haven't even thought about decorating for Christmas yet....lol....probably won't do much

Good morning everyone especially BC we tied this morn, we have 16 too. Suppose to get to low 20's wow warming right up. Hey I look forward to high 30's by end of the week. I tried to upload a picture here most of yesterday. but can't do it so will try to put one on my byc page, wanted to show off my coop with snow. Only 2 chickens have ventured out this morning 1 roo and one hen, the rest are in by the light. I'd love to see some baby pic. BC. Hope everyone has a great day and stay warm. Blessings! Trish

What cuties, they look so healthy. Do you sell alot of your Sikies or do you just keep adding to your collection? You'll have to go to my BYC page to see my birds or some of them I am having a hard time getting them anywhere else. Going on my 2nd year with a computer, and I'm pretty old to be starting all of this.
