Lucky you. My mother gives me detailed information about EACH tropical storm. She goes straight to the NOAA site then critiques her TV weather people.

Would giving the horse a puddle to stand in or a quick shower with the hose be too much? I hope all your critters feel better soon. This heat is worthless.

Thanks

GGCM He has a fan, he stands in front of it then wonders back out to the paddock. I thought about hosing him down, then worry of the freezing well water chilling him.

And he would never stand in a puddle *gasp* he might get his feet wet.

But he does roll in mud, don't think I want to see him rolling around on the ground right now.... that would be bad, very bad.

He seems to be moving around more and has had water, at least a gallon. Still hasn't eaten or pooped.

Beth, if your horse is sick don't force him to eat. I would be more concerned about drinking and monitoring that every hour. You can offer up some hay but would not give any grain. If he is not drinking well don't hesitate to put the hose in his mouth forcing him to have to drink some. Believe me, I have had my fair share of treating horses for this or that, been showing since I was 6 and have owned horses off and on for over 20 years. Right now we have 5.
