ARGH!

The dog came back while I was working today and got my frizzle ee/cochin mix!!!!!!!!!

I'm so freakin' mad. Not mention someone came on my property and stole my garden tools that were out by my fenced garden. They took a shovel and 2 rakes!!!

WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!? My husband is out rampaging about fencing the property and getting a gun NOW.

He's probably as mad as I am. With the garden stuff missing he's wondering if someone came and took the frizzle chicken as well because it was so pretty that it wasn't a dog this time. I hate saying it, but I don't trust those people in the trailer park behind us as far as I can throw them. They are lucky I'm not rampaging through the trailer park and calling cops!!!!!!!!!

Just found a pile of feathers and some chicken parts out in the woods.

Hubby has seen the dog before, and we're going to drive through the trailer park and see if we can see who's dog it is. If I find it, they're in for an earful and I'm calling animal control.

i say take the dog in, train it, and when the owners come looking for it, tell them you want your stuff back and compensation for what they cant give you back. if they get upset or try to take the dog back and it bites them, the law will be on your side. lol ive done it before with fighting and guard/attack dogs. the owners of untrained dogs, seem so surprised when they get snarled and snapped at when they try to take them back. dogs follow whoever is the top dog, so strong gentle hands, can turn any dog good. then you wont have to worry about your stuff in the future.

better yet, just attach some fishing line to some tools, and a bell at the other end tied up, take a npa in the barn, and when the bell rings, just shoot for the groin.

P.S. sorry about your bird, sounded beautiful!

And now you don't even have a shovel to whack it over the head with.

Yeap, time to take some action Shannon. I think man and beast from the trailer park has gotten a bit too comfortable at your place!!

It may not hurt to get an inexpensive animal cam to see who & what is coming on your property when your not home?? Someone awhile back had one one here for sale for like 50 bucks.

I have a webcam and I'm thinking of walking it out and setting it up if I have enough cable and my wireless modem should be good for the set up. I'm bothered that we have 2 motion detector lights and that doesn't seem to have bothered the animals or people coming around? I just priced out chain link fencing (100+ feet) and it looks to be between $400 and $600 if we want it fence in the coops. WOW, that is so not in budget when we're struggling. I'm a bit too broken hearted to think on that right now, so I'll take a deep breath and wait.

Thankfully, I moved my last 2 red cochin bantam pullets over to the Japanese Bantam coop. They'll just have to work it out and get along, its the safest place for them because that coop is 3 feet off the ground and metal sides rather then the wood like the one the dog got in. I don't know how he did it, but the dog ripped the wood panels off the side of the coop and got in!!!??? No one was free ranging or even in their runs when this happened.

BHep, that would just make my world. Of course we need to take care of the evil killer and fix the coop. Hubby is planning on dismanteling the coop completely at this point and raise the frame up on stilts like the other coops. I feel better with them off the ground, this one was ground level.

I miss those pretty babies so much right now, and even my rooster was beautiful.... he never even got his first crow yet!

I am now down to 14 chickens.
