Matt - I was on the edge of my seat, reaching for a box of tissues dreading the horrific ending...ended up needing tissues anyway from laughing at myself!! I am so happy you found her and she is alright!!

I will second the others when I say you have a knack for suspense writing!! I just about died!!

BHep & HT - I am still (STILL) trying to figure out who is laying the green eggs.

I gave them to DH this morning for breakfast...with some HAM!!

I haven't had a moment's peace to go into the coop and take some photos so we can guess who the green egg layer is. I promise you once this wedding cake is done, I'll post some photos!!

SCM - Maybe this Wednesday we'll cross paths at Western Blvd!!

Cake update: for those of you wondering if I am still sane or not...I am NOT!! I pulled the cakes out of the freezer (the larger cakes) Sunday morning and went to the kitchen where the banquet is being held Monday afternoon and... they.were.still.FROZEN!!

So I made the trip for nothing. Woke up at 3am and started working on baking the last of the bunches!! I finally finished by 7am!! UGH!! Today and tomorrow will be spent leveling and crumb coating the monsters once DD wakes up. It's fun, really...trying to do all this in between nap times...okay not really!!

Chicken update: the run is completely void of all grass and so I am thinking (starting next week) to bribe them to follow me around a bit with some mealworms. I am hoping to get them on some grass, as they are EATING me out of house and home!!

We found FIVE

eggs in the coop yesterday! One of the Orpington girls is still laying a small egg (but I am wondering if that's going to be her normal, as Mopsy is definitely the smallest girl of the bunch...) but we had ONE beautiful chocolate egg...

and another green egg!!

Not sure you have gone back to read the previous post. I am wondering if the green egg is coming from the blue hen. I got her from another BYCer as a "PURE Blue Marans" BUT since every other bird I got from them was NOT what they said.... I would not be surprised if it was her. But please keep me post I am VERY very curious.

You will have a very pretty egg basket for sure.
