Thanks, Suburb! I have some I'm attached to more than others! I have 6 chickens now. One rooster and a mix of 5 hens. Only one of them lays so far. She's a smaller black hen and gives one egg/day with quite a bit of regularity! She's currently stockpiling in my garden shed and she thinks I don't know! That's ok, because I'd like to try those ggs in the incubator when I get it later this week!

I'm not picky! Chickens and wine are my therapy! I sit out in the back after work and watch them chase bugs in the yard..My husband loves "fresH' chicken soup, so I don't mind getting roosters, either.

Ideally, I'd like to have enough egg production that I could pass eggs off to friends and family when they stop by, though!

We are out in Zebulon, but I work in North Raleigh!

What do you have/like?

I actually hatched the two pullets at the same time as the blue/black that you have. I really love this group and they are really friendly but want to make room for the white bantam orps that will be arriving some time this fall. This group needs to be in the hands of someone that will do something with them, they are looking really promising.

So, guess who's the proud new owner of a positive strep test following a two hour wait in the drs office? Yep, me! Good news: I get another day off work. Bad news: I still have to do all the lesson plans, field desperate "where r u?" texts from students AND grade all the work I've left for those same students! At least they'll appreciate me when I get back!

Buttercup, I've read on here that they can fully recover like others here have said. I hope yours does and I'm glad she's doing better!

Ally, sounds like we go to the same therapist!

NH : I have those moments every time I catch myself snapping, "Because I said so, that's why!" if the pointy finger comes out I'll know I'm in trouble!!

HT that's a pretty girl you have! She looks so comfy and she's not even giving you the stink eye! How sweet.
