Update on the snake hunt... TORE UP the barn. No snake, just skin. ???? Did find a rat

I am wondering if my mean ol' Guineas ran it off. Will keep looking. I know it fed well and is holed up somewhere and I am sure it will be hungry by this weekend.

On a happy note: I have been ho-humming about getting rid of a trio of bantam Cohin I have. They missed the trip to the auction, didn't have enough boxes. Then ... "well they are so tiny & cute and hardly eat a thing" Blah Blah Blah. So both hens went broody. Go figure

I gave them eggs from the incubator to hatch out. They did a great job

They are sharing and caring for the chicks. Yesterday I find 2 dead chicks under a LF cochin. She is an awesome broody, but kills her babies. This was her last chance.

So I rescued the remaining eggs and figured "what the heck" so I stuck them in the broody box with the bantam cochin and watched. Yup... they squabbled over the eggs, worked it out and this morning, 1 is hatched & 1 is zipping.

They are keepers for sure

AND::::::: I shipped out some eggs and the stinking PO returned them.....

Have you EVER heard such a thing

So of course I stuck them in my incubator and recollected & shipped .

I sent 15.... locked down 8 and hatched 8.

seramas & sizzles. Anyone looking for some Seramas.... I am OVER RUN.

I have never heard of such a thing! Wonder what other type of changes we are info with all the postal woes...... I already see that the online postal calculator has been down for two weeks now

DH doesn't think that is by accident with talks of postal layoffs, now you have to call the po and talk to a live person to get a shipping quote. Oh wait, that requires a real person and means someone keeps their job!!

Hey everyone!
My friend from work is not going on Saturday, but is on wednesday. Go figure. Now it's up to DH as I am not taking three kids to the state fair by myself since I've never been there.

Sitting at drs office right now. Showed school nurse while I was working on lesson plans and she said, "you know strep has been going around..." yeah. Figured. So here I sit. One drs out today so... Good thing I brought a book and my iPad!!

HT I'm definitely running away to come live with you! That is a great set up! I bet your birds are happy chicks!

Vfem, I hope your entries do well! I've never entered anything in a fair so I will live vicariously through you!

Beth, your babies are so cute! I just heard from our Ag teacher that my quail eggs in her bator in her classroom are hTching! Of course the kids are sending me reports complete with pics! And I'm not there to see them. Oh well, maybe tomorrow!
