I must say I'm thankful to not have dealt with one of those yet.

The first thing that springs to mind is perhaps a varient of "the dog killed the chicken so tie the dead chicken to his collar for a week". People will probably think that is cruel, but my father did that to a boxer mix twentysome years ago. Buster still chased the chickens, but he didn't kill any more until he had a dog buddy to go wild with. My father ended up putting her down. I think she was a beagle mix and most people suggest avoiding hunting dog types for around chickens.

Wow, that was long winded, lol. I hope that dose of solitary works on Mr. Rooster. Please keep us up to date on what happens with him.

Double A, I'm sorry I just saw this today. I don't use internet often on weekend! Did you go? We went and I picked up three hens and a bunny.

Oh boy! What kinda hens? Sounds like a successful trip!

Vfem - sorry you're dragging. I know the feeling! Amazingly I'm perky this morning! My 1 year old slept through the night (for the 3rd time ever) last night!!!

Which is good because now we have a day of doctor and vet visits.

It was a good day! Not a ton of boxes, but they had lots of Polish and silkies, and hens in general. I got a box with one Rhode Island White hen, a box with two Barred Rock hens, and a box with a flop eared bunny!

The hens look very clean and well cared for and look to have come from the same seller. The bunny is adorable and not as skittish as I would have thought. He appears to be young and is comfy in new home already!

Did anyone go and see that BO rooster go for $32.00??? I have an identical one at home and I paid $1.00 for him a few months ago..lol

Had a friend suggest I let him get his butt kicked by another roo, don't wanna do that. Already buried the body of the latest victom. I was thinking what if I trim his spur (broke one off so its a 1/2 inch nub, but the other's a good 3 to 4 inches) and his beak? I have trimmed spurs before because they were so long the bird couldn't walk or they were growing back into the leg, but I don't believe in trimming beaks (accpet for peepers the crooked beak so he can eat, that is just more of shapeing it and making sure it isn't to long) How would I do it and would it even work?

Who's DH was a construction worker thats outta work and maybe moving back to Iowa? My DH needs a guy for some temp. work. Looks like 3 houses right now maybe more, wood framed in North Fayetteville.
