Yes it was a shock. The heat got me quickly. Was over meeting neighbors and passed out from the heat. What a way to meet. I was still in school so didn't have much choice in coming or not. But wouldn't move back now. I love the weather here most of the time. Can take the cold better than the heat though. Only so much you can take off and still be legal. lol.
OMG too funny, I tell my coworkers that same thing all the time! Yeah I prefer the cold weather, but rather not see any more snow/ice frozen stuff. I am ready for spring.
Have some sad news to report. We lost Henry today my only rooster. Looks like a hawk did it. The neck and head was a mess. No prints on the ground and only his feathers every where. He is how I got started with raising chickens and how I took the name 2 Stray Roos. He just showed up in the yard one day and 6 months later one of his buddies. When we got the hens, they started to fight so I gave Grissom back to his owner and kept Henry. Rest in Peace my dear Henry and I sure will miss your crows in the morning.
2strayroosters...I'm sorry about your roo. They can be such good buddies.
I have to chime in on the temp preference. I much prefer being overheated to too cold. A good glass of ice water will cool me down just fine. And while I can bundle up against the cold, I can't function once I have! But I'm a transplant from Georgia, so to me this is "up north"!
Any Fourth Creekers out there? Someone from the Statesville area? I'm just to the east of Statesville, right on the Rowan County line. We back up to Fourth Creek.
gavinandallison, I would love some or really one but as I have said before I don't drive unless I have to. Are these small enough to ship and how much???? Not ready for anything big yet but seeing how you hitchers seem to keep getting bigger ones and all. It looks like it gets addictive fast.
2StrayRoos, sorry for your loss. The boys do become a part of the family esp those ones that socialize....
Another beautiful day before the cold returns. Gots lots to do while it's nice out.... but don't we all....
