I swear if it's not one thing it's another.....we turned the heater off yesterday cuz we opened the windows to paint, turned it back on before bed and?..........NOTHING! Didn't have time to look at it this morning before work but I guess that's what I'll be doing on my lunch break.

Ouch! We had major heating problems over the fall. Several months of hunting for the problem before we finally just replaced the burner. Better then than now. Do your best to stay warm while it's getting taken care of. A space heater may be helpful.

Luke - sorry to hear about your heater!! I do hope it's nothing major and you can get it addressed quickly (so you can still enjoy some lunch!!).
Hollow - I knew I adored you for a reason!!

I do like your idea though. I just may have to try it...as I loathe stuffing diapers more than I loathe cleaning!! I do enjoy certain parts of cleaning so those always get done. LOL The bad part...pregnancy cravings have kept me going in and out of the kitchen all day looking for that ONE thing that I am craving (that I don't have...LOL). WHO craves watermelon in the winter? Or worse...a life-sized hot fudge sundae bowl?!? I'm off to make granola and PRETEND it's something sweet...LOL

Excited to say that by my youngest's 1st bday our chicks will be able to be moved into the larger coop and introduced to the rest of the flock!! I think we'll make it a party event...lol PARTY!!

We do have space heaters, but I'm cheap so we just put more clothes on and an extra blanket on the bed. It's not the first time this has happened but I don't call the repair guy because I guess I'm hard headed and can normally fix it myself. (more like rigging but it does the trick) But we're putting a woodstove in the house over the spring so a temporary fix will hold for now.

I just have to say that we were spared last night. Somehow the hose ended up being trigged on and the entire "run" for the young chicks was covered in ice!! Their whole area was filled with water; however, NOT ONE chick was wet nor did we lose one!!

I don't know HOW, but I can sure say I was SHOCKED!! Poor DH must have been half asleep or just in a hurry as that's never happened before. One brave little girl did escape, but she easily let me pick her up and put her with her siblings (plus she saw they were getting an EXTRA dose of food....poor things).

Now to figure out how to get them dried out and warmed up a bit more before the nastiness that is suppose to arrive tomorrow!!

I used to have to flip the breakers off and then turn them on again to get it to restart on mine before i got it fixed
