Well, at least it's got hubby involved. Since it was a dog or dogs, he's taking it personally. The wildlife is one thing, but someone's pet is another. He went and bought a big live catch trap, so now we have three traps set for assorted things. And he just walked out to patrol. Since we spent today getting that blasted agricultural survey done today...well, mostly...calculating costs for last year, it hit him in the pocketbook, I think. And we've both had alarms going off several times this evening, reminding us to do lockup. Maybe one day I will learn.

Well today just sucks XP I have spent the whole day crying, first I spilled about 1/2 pound of feed, which sucks, because thanks to some ******* we are broke(some one stole our bank card number and ran us into the ground and bank says it can take up to 2 weeks before we get our money back), and I have like 20lbs of feed that has to last me 2 weeks, I've had to sell down to the bare minimum, and now I'm scared I won't be able to keep the show birds I have worked so hard to get, i'm down to like 4-5 layers, so now I won't have excess eggs to sell, which paid for my feed, mostly. My birds are hungry and I'm scared I may have to sell off totally before this is all over. Humane society has been a huge blessing in giving us cat and dog foo, but why o why can't there be a place to help with livestock feed. :hit :hit I feel so helpless and right now, like the most horrible chicken momma, my girls were sitting at the door, 'begging for food' and that just made me bawl :hit with less than 20 birds now, my yard feels bare and sadly quite. Hoping and praying I can stretch the food 2 weeks.

Good morning folks

Wild - under the circumstances - and maybe with a letter from your bank explaining the problem - won't your feed store give you credit? Maybe even just a temp thing?

Good Morning everyone! I hear we are in for some more icky weather (freezing rain) but then we're suppose to hit 70 by tomorrow!! I will NEVER understand this hot/cold business!! LOL.

I am VERY agitated this morning!! I have been waiting for 2 months for FedEx to deliver a package to me (seriously 2 things of yarn) so I can finish this baby blanket I am making for a shower present...and they have YET to deliver it!! The tracking number says, "delivery attempted" (on a day I was home WAITING for the delivery) - not to mention there is NO WAY to arrive at my house without me knowing!! I can hear UPS truck and even the USPS car from ANY room in the house. Needless to say, I wrote a not so nice (but not nasty) note to FedEx telling them just how disgusted I was with their "home delivery" service as they refuse to drive down our road! The last time someone sent us something via FedEx, the driver called my husband and made him meet him at the highway!! Yeah - this is what they get paid for...UGH!!
Then I get the WORST phone call ever! My in-laws have decided that instead of visiting in April for our youngest's 1st birthday, they are going to come in July...ON THE DAY the baby is set to arrive...SERIOUSLY?? I know I am going to have my hands full adjusting to 3 (you know, since you only have 2 hands for everything...lol) but WHY do they have to come then? Can't they (if they HAVE TO) come at the end of the month, or perhaps even in August, when I have had time to adjust and recover?!? The LAST thing I want to worry about is what to feed my FIL and what work he can do to keep himself busy. When DH told me this, I was NOT happy. LOL...poor man, I think I may have shot the messenger with my eye daggers!!

Still...not a happy camper. I am sure I will be grateful for the extra "help" once it comes, but I'm still not sure I like this whole idea. Okay, thank you all for letting me vent!!
I am happy to say that we have 2 very adventurous chicks...2 of my girls (I can't remember what all I have...how sad is that?? They are blueish/white, not my black/white and not my brown/black ones...so whatever they might be, Beth?? LOL) anyway, these 2 girls have figured out just about every way to sneak out of the detention center and are running around the yard with the older boys!! I guess we know what to expect from these hussies!! LOL. I do suspect that my OE hen (who is at POL, but no eggs yet) may be my first mama. She spends a LOT of time over by the chicks and just acts "motherly" around them. It's sweet...the girls all follow her around and watch all that she does - sometimes it looks to me as if she's showing them what to do. I've seen her scratch and "hand" something through the fence to the chicks which they all crowd around. Not sure if that's what is happening or not, but she really is just sweet!

Boy did you all talk a lot over the weekend!! LOL...I didn't go through and read everything, so I hope I didn't miss anything too terrible, or miss anyone joining. In case I did...WELCOME TO BYC!! If you suffered losses because of this weather or what not,

I am so sorry!! If you had a hatch

congratulations!! (I think that pretty much covers everything..if I missed something, sorry!!)

Try to stay warm, dry and safe out there!! I'm looking forward to spring (NOT summer, just spring) and PLANTING!! Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning! School is on a 3-hour delay today (Really???) so I'll be chilling with my girls a little longer this morning. I have 3-week old Izzy and CannonBall on my lap right now. Looking forward to the upcoming warm weather! My lettuce made it through the freeze - going to pick a bunch and have some salad today. Never imagined I'd be gardening and living with chickens - not that much of a city girl anymore, I guess LoL!!!

Have a great day, everyone!
