Caponization is not done very often anymore. It was used to create a 'unique' tasting meat in a chicken. This is a fairly intrusive surgery for a chicken and should be done by someone with experience and skill. Even then, the death rate is 5-30%. I doupt you will find someone. Caponization is supposed to be done at less then 6 weeks of age to prevent the males from ever developing.

Here is an older BYC thread on it: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/210041/

I was out of town and computer on your day Matt

Happy late Birthday

We're soooo romantic around here. Decided to go out for Valentine's tonight to avoid crowds. Home by 8:30, shut up the coops on the way in (hey, at least we did it together!), and DH is in bed......no, not waiting for me......he is snoring. It's 8:35. *sigh*

Thank You. That was the 4th and I am still hunting for a gift for myself. I am wanting a laptop, but I am extremely hesitant to buy anything that costs that much. I plan to keep it under $300, but for me that is alot.

Matt
I got an Acer from wallyworld last summer while on our drive-about trip.....cost just under $300.
It's been a good little laptop and we take it with us when we travel.

ps I remember it's the 4th
